LINDGREN POTTERY AT THE G8 LEADERS SUMMIT - DEERHURST RESORT - JUNE 2010

Selected by the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister's Office and the Summit Management Office, we started the year with a huge challenge. Lindgren Pottery was selected to supply the dinnerware and serving pieces for the G8 Summit at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville. Eric enjoyed working with Chef Rory Golden to come up with the perfect combination of functionality and design for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee service.

The order included much of our regular dinnerware, square plates as usual, plus special miniature versions of items like salt & pepper and cream & sugar for individual portions. Chef Golden chose several of Eric's large one of a kind serving pieces for the buffet table (imagine a large sculptural bowl full of beaver tails...).

It was a large order for us, 481 pieces, and we started work on it in January. Cathy, Edith, Trevor and Eric completed and delivered everything in the first week of June. Chef Golden and staff were pleased with how it all turned out. Here are some pictures - we can show you some real samples in our showroom. We're honoured that aftert the summit all of the pottery has been installed at Harrington Lake, the official retreat of the Prime Minister near Ottawa.

Eric says, "We are proud to represent Canada and Muskoka, flattered to be chosen, and thrilled that Canadian art and craft had such prominence at the two Summits."
